Alexandria is a middle school integrated English Language Arts/Social Science teacher at Burton Middle School in the heart of the diverse California Central Valley. In addition, to her duties as a classroom teacher, she also supports the professional development of her colleagues by serving as a Teacher Technology Leader (TTL). Her duties include assisting teachers in rigorous lessons that effectively utilize technology at the 1:1 campus, presenting to faculty and introducing new technology tools, and collaborating with other TTLs to continually support and grow the successful implementation of the 1:1 program. She is dedicated to integration of core content, arts, and technology. She serves as an active member of professional learning communities from a variety of disciplines such as CUE, The DBQ Project, JAMS, and the Tulare County Arts Network. She is passionate about the effective integration of technology in the classroom is zealous in her pursuit instructional innovation.
Alexandria also serves as a mediator mentor and works with the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services to develop online mediator training modules and classes with the goal of improving student mediation skills and connecting trained student mentors with disputants from around the country. She believes in building strong relationships with her students to foster a safe and productive learning community.
Alexandria has Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Communication from California State University, Fresno where she graduated with University Honors. She also earned her Masters in Teaching with an emphasis in multicultural education and technology and is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She has been nominated for the CUE Outstanding Emerging Teacher Award and was named a 2016 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator.
